Leading high-performing teams across borders requires more than meeting sales quotas or managing deliverables—it demands cultural fluency, adaptability, and trust. Our leadership approach is rooted in real-world experience managing staff and independent channel partners during complex international trade initiatives, emergency response efforts, and public-private collaborations.

We’ve earned recognition for our ability to unite diverse professionals around a shared mission—by honoring individual motivation, communicating with clarity across cultures, and coaching teams to deliver under pressure. The result? Resilient, mission-ready teams that perform when it matters most.

Commercial Diplomacy: Online

Recruitment Events

Called upon to organize and host a web-based recruitment outreach event for a US government-hosted foreign direct investment (FDI) event, as Commercial Officer at the US Embassy in Bucharest I rallied colleagues from nine other Southeast Europe countries for an online program to recruit delegates.

I drew upon my proven success in “Management by Permission,” (i.e., the gentle art of directing another supervisor’s staff members) and applied my skills in convening and uniting people from disparate cultures and histories.

This program yielded what became the largest-ever delegation from the region to attend the annual event, and it is now a template for low-cost, web-based outreach serving multiple industry sectors.

Leadership of

Multinational Consumer Branding Teams

During Jabra’s formative years in Bluetooth mobile technology, Tom played a pivotal leadership role, guiding cross-functional teams spanning California and Denmark. He successfully aligned product development, marketing, and sales functions across cultures and time zones to accelerate innovation and market readiness.

He led and inspired multinational teams to deliver first-to-market solutions, secure global channel partnerships, and execute integrated campaigns across North America, Europe, and Asia. His leadership was instrumental in positioning Jabra as an industry front-runner and driving its acquisition by a global competitor.

Commercial Diplomacy: Maximum Reach for a

U.S. TECH Startup

In the high-stakes, low-resource environment typical of pre-acquisition technology firms, Channel Architect brings strategic clarity and resourcefulness.

While serving as a commercial officer Tom leveraged the global network of the U.S. Foreign Commercial Service, aligning embassy-based market development services across multiple countries to deliver coordinated, cost-effective support for U.S. clients.

For a U.S. medical technology startup targeting public-sector buyers, he directed a virtual roadshow across seven Eastern European countries, focusing on government procurement officials. The streamlined approach avoided redundant outreach, reduced marketing costs, and unlocked new channels in hard-to-reach markets.

We were able to gain visibility in multiple countries simultaneously—something we never could’ve done on our own at this stage. The support cut our costs and gave us traction where we had none before.
— CEO, U.S. Medical Technology Firm

This approach not only expanded the company’s global footprint but positioned it more competitively for acquisition and long-term growth.
